Until today the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt has shown more than 250 exhibitions with Susan Meiselas, Jacques-Henri Lartigue, Helmut Newton, Tina Modotti, Barbara Klemm, Robert Frank, Imogen Cunningham, Sebastião Salgado, Dorothea Lange, Roger Ballen, Sarah Moon, Atta Kim, Andy Warhol, Alberto Garcia Alix, Walker Evans, Martin Parr, Elinor Carucci, Hans van der Meer, Gisèle Freund and David Maisel.

FFF Programme

Since its foundation in 1984, the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt (FFF) has presented numerous aspects of photography and is a platform for critical dialogue. In the meantime, the programme of the FFF is wide-ranging: four to six EXHIBITIONS annually, various publications, as well as workshops, lectures and symposia within the FFF  ACADEMY show the possibility and diversity of photography - as a form of documentation, as an independent art genre and as a universal language. 
The FFF sharpens the view for high-quality international photography with formats close to the audience, such as the discussion and exhibition series PHOTOGRAHPHY  PLAYERS, with regular guided TOURS and with FFF JUNIOR, a programme for cultural education for children and young people.

    EXHIBITIONS

    Discovering different facets of photography


    With regular changing exhibitions the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt presents different facets of the medium including a wide range of its artistic capabilities and expressions. Historical and current themes are shown: one-person and group shows of internationally renowned names in photography as well as discoveries and emerging talents.

      FFF ACADEMY

      Unique programme of lectures, discussions and workshops


      Photographers, students, collectors, visual art critics and historians and anyone interested in photography is invited to participate in the FFF Academy. For Germany this long-running unique programme combines lectures, discussions and workshops from top experts and practitioners of the world’s lens-based culture. We strive in offering new perspectives and ideas about the medium which engage the participants to expand their vision.

        Innovative photography projects


        The FFF format “Photography Players. International specialists featuring upcoming talents” focuses on current international photography projects and ideas about the medium as well as different, young and fresh talents. In lectures, talks or presentations FFF curator Celina Lunsford discusses new photographers and the talents from tomorrow.

          FFF JUNIOR

          Learning through photography


          Learning through photography is the essence of the programme FFF Junior. Photographers, artists and art-educators work intensively in workshops with children and teenagers, experimenting with cameras, editing, discussing current themes relating to exhibitions and their own environments. The results of the participants are combined into a dynamically designed photo-magazine in printed form. Included in the FFF Junior programme are free group tours and workshops for schools, kindergartens and youth centres, different workshop concepts, an introduction for teachers, with special emphasis on the current exhibition. All offers are available upon request.

            FELLOWSHIP

            recommended supports talented photographers


            Since 2017, Fotografie Forum Frankfurt (FFF) has been involved in the organisation of the fellowship recommended, which Olympus created in  cooperation with FFF, Haus der Photographie/Deichtorhallen Hamburg, and Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam.

            The aim is to support talented photographers in the artistic field at a crucial juncture in their careers. With a grant of 10,000 euro as well as advisory support the fellowship enables the three selected photographers to realize and conceive a dedicated photo project. Each fellow work closely with and is personally coached by a curator at one of the renowned European photography institutions. At the end there will be an exhibition with the fellows results, which will be shown by all institutions. recommended will be awarded every two years.

              TOURS

              Guided by experts


              Every Wednesday at 6 pm. Guided tours of the current exhibition are offered free of charge and included in your entrance fee. Additional private or group tours for classes or special events are also available upon request.
