As part of the FFF Academy, the unique art education programme FFF Junior promotes the use of the camera and the medium of photography and has for many years complemented the educational offerings of Fotografie Forum Frankfurt with the expertise of photographers and artists.
FFF Junior 2026 is supported by the German Museums Association as part of the “Museum macht stark” programme, the Dr. Marschner Stiftung, the Metzler Stiftung and FFF main sponsor Fujifilm Electronic Imaging Europe GmbH.
The FFF Junior Programme encourages both practical skills in handling a camera and a fundamental understanding of visual language as well as visual communication.
This year, the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt is once again offering a variety of educational formats for children and young people.
In addition to guided tours for groups from schools or childcare institutions, two exciting holiday workshops are planned. During these multi-day workshops (Easter and summer holidays), children have the opportunity to engage intensively with the medium of photography. Together, they experiment, observe, and take photographs. The workshops provide young participants with the chance to sharpen their perception, realise their own ideas, and gain their first photographic experiences. Creativity, curiosity, and collaborative exploration are at the heart of the programme.
The programme is led by professional art educators and photographers. With expert guidance, participants develop their own visual ideas, learn the fundamentals of photography, and engage with themes from the current exhibition at the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt. At the end of the workshops, participants curate their own exhibition, in which their works are presented to the public.

A Journey into the Creative World of Photography – A Special Needs Project
Eight to ten young adults with Down syndrome or similar psychological and physical challenges are given the opportunity, over two four-day sessions, to explore photography using a professional camera. Young people who require additional support and guidance should also be given the chance to be seen in our shared world and to express their individual perceptions, talents, aspirations, as well as their wishes and expectations.
The workshop is planned for the Easter holidays in 2026 and will be led by the photographer Ferhat Bouda, supported by an art educator and care staff.
