Jaromír Funke radically pushed the boundaries of modern photography, especially with his experiments with light and shadow, mirroring, transparencies and reflections. The Czech photographer (1896–1945) counts as one the most important representatives of international Avant-garde photography. The FFF presents an extensive solo show of this visionary for the first time in Germany. On display are 70 photographs from the 1920s and 1930s.

The Workshops and lecture programme of the FFF Academy are geared toward current positions in photography and individual investigations. Again in 2018 diverse opportunities to enhance your photographic interests are offered. Some of the teachers are OSTKREUZ co-founder Ute Mahler (DE), Derek Ridgers (UK), Mathieu Asselin (FR), Arno Rafael Minkkinen (US/FI), Andrea Diefenbach (DE), and Gideon Mendel (ZA/GB).

“IDEA INTO ACTIONS. LONG-TERM PROJECT FIRST STEPS”

A photographic long-term project is a big challenge. RAY 2018 artist and finalist for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2018, Mathieu Asselin, will provide the participants in his workshop with the right tools needed for organisation, structure and realization.

The FFF shows experimental images from photographers at the renowned Institute of Creative Photography at the Silesian University Opava, Czech Republic.

​​​​​​​For RAY 2018 eight contemporary photo-based artists who are working on the forefront of environmental awareness are brought together at the FFF exhibtion “EXTREME. ENVIRONMENTS”. They are concerned with obvious and hidden aspects of man’s impact on the environment.

New OLympus Fellowship

Recommendation of FFF is: Lilly Lulay


recommended is the title of the Fellowship that Olympus has now initiated in cooperation with the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt, the House of Photography / Deichtorhallen Hamburg and the Foam Photography Museum Amsterdam. The FFF recipient of the first recommended year fellowship is art photogrpaher Lilly Lulay (*1985 in Frankfurt am Main). She receives financial support in the form of €10.000 for a photography project and one-year long coaching by FFF curator Celina Lunsford.
