Meet at 2 pm. At the beginning an introduction is given and the route is discussed. While searching and finding interesting photo motifs in the city, Nils Thies will give tips and answer questions.

This course is a city tour with smart photo training for beginners and curious advanced learners. No need for heavy equipment, because this workshop is about your smart phone and how you can use it to make skillful images. During the tour through Frankfurt we will explore the pros and cons of the multi-function apparatuses. You will discover new perspectives and unusual situations involving the laws around photographing and the right to photograph in public spaces. Whether architecture or street photography – it is all in the palm of your hand.
The Frankfurt-based multimedia journalist Nils Thies (*1979) completed his Master of Science in the field of digital media at the Hochschule Bremerhaven, Hochschule Bremen and the Finnish University of Applied Science Mikkeli. He worked at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) as a picture editor after completing his training there. Thies has been working as a photo and multimedia journalist and is currently the photographer of the German Central Bank. For his assignments, he has travelled to Greece, Kosovo, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Croatia.
