Dating services, mothers and daughters with different ethnic roots and legacies of German history: Karla Hiraldo VoleauTobias Kruse and Mika Sperling, the current winners of the fellowship recommended, allow the viewers very personal insights into their private lives. Their works can be seen in the exhibition RECOMMENDED OLYMPUS FELLOWSHIP at the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt from 19.09.–25.10.2020.

Karla Hiraldo Voleau explores the dating culture in Japan to describe the mechanisms of modern male-female relationships. Tobias Kruse approaches past and present places and moods in his eastern German homeland. Mika Sperling examines the influence of multicultural origin on identity and the relationships in her own family.

The fellowship recommended was established in 2017 by Olympus together with the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt, the Haus der Photographie/Deichtorhallen Hamburg and the Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam. For one year the winners have made new projects on the significance of artistic photography, each mentored by the exhibition centres’ curators.
