The »DZ BANK Art Collection« was founded in 1993 and is the corporate collection of DZ BANK AG, based in Frankfurt am Main. The collection comprises more than 8000 works by a 800 international artists. Its focus is on contemporary photographic art this means any type of works that have undergone a photochemical or photo-technical process in the course of their creation. In the »ART FOYER«, the 300 square meter exhibition hall, the continually expanding collection is presented in three to four changing exhibitions per year.
The focus of the private guided tour with collection director Dr. Christina Leber in the Depot is on the various forms of photographic expression in their respective techniques and materials. Individual works of art from the approximately 3500 works on site will be discussed together. Dierk Gessner, who is in charge of the restoration of the collection, will also introduce the conservation approach to art.
